Human Resources
The Human Resources Division is responsible for developing, implementing and continually refining DISB's People Strategy, which is “Transforming the Human Resource Function to ensure that DISB has the right people, in the right jobs, with the right skills and abilities, with a true sense of personal value, and a commitment to providing high quality service to the residents of the District of Columbia.”

The HR Division comprises the following areas:
HR Delivery
The HR Department works closely with senior managers to ensure HR activities are closely aligned to the business agenda by delivering our strategic HR objectives.
Organizational Development
The Organizational Development: Provides HR expertise, focused on development, including strategies, toolkits and methodologies in relation to talent and executive development, performance management, management development, and technical and interpersonal learning and development.
Our Training and Competence scheme incorporates best practice from around the financial services industry. It helps to maintain high performance in our staff and is a further investment in their knowledge and skills development.
HR Operations
HR Operations: Provides HR Transactional support to managers and employees, including a DISB.HR Helpline email service to managers and employees regarding HR policies, process and procedures.
Employee Relations: Advises the agency on complex employee relations matters to ensure cases are handled consistently across DISB. The team is also the principal source of HR policy and diversity expertise.
The Resourcing team provides recruitment services to DISB, including attraction and selection for experienced hires.
Consultancy
HR Consultancy: Provides resource to help manage, drive and deliver discrete projects in line with the overall priorities of the division and DISB risks. This also includes the responsibility to support the HR management team in managing and prioritizing their teams’ resources.
Reward and Reporting
The Reward and Reporting: Provides HR expertise, including reward strategies, methodologies and information on people management.
